Last weekend we returned from a cruise to Jervis Bay, led by John Quinn in Polaris of Belmont. If only I knew how to trim our sails as well as they were set on Polaris. Here she is at Point Perpendicular, the entrance to Jervis Bay.

As you may have heard, we're closing down FirmwareDesign after more than 18 years of operation. It's been an excellent innings of which we're proud and has been a great experience for many of us. We thought it would be fitting to have an opportunity to catch up with old friends and invite anyone who has worked for the company since its founding in 1985 (and partners/offspring of course!) to join us for a Barbeque at Parramatta Park. It would be really great to see you there!
Venue:
Parramatta Park
Entrance through Queens Road Gatehouse.
Area 2 (which is booked in our name) is towards the railway line (near Domain Creek)
It has 2 Separate tables with shelters and BBQ between.
Time:
between 12.00-3.00 pm
It's going to be low key, no speeches, BYO everything. The main thing is to create an opportunity to catch up - whether you were with us in the 80's, 90's or 00's.
And if you have a Firmware shirt, wear it! We will have a few of the remaining "latest logo" shirts as "door" prizes.

Great to get some reactions to my email. Congratulations to Mark Baulman whio can't make it because he's gettiing married on he 27th.
Craig Kirby sent an email to say that he'd be there too (careful on that bike, Craig!)
And we thought it would never end!
Please accept my appologies. I have a compulsory (attend or fail) residential school in Armidale that weekend, otherwise I would have been there with bells on.

I can't believe the ending has actually arrived. Never did I imagine such a downfall of the bustling, thriving, and most enjoyable FirwareDesign I joined in early 2000. Congratulations on the innings, I'm sure you won't have to go into bat again!

It's great to hear briefly what everyone has been up to in this web log. I would love to be able to catch up with everyone this weekend and find out more details. Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town and won't be able to make it. I am still in Oz, so would love the opportunity to catch up again as it seems there are many of us who won't be able to be there this weekend. Hey guys, sad to hear about the end to the firmware era. Unfortunatley I have a dancing comp this whole weekend so i won't be able to make it. But I will always (as many others) remember the fun environment we created - i guess this was stimulated by "beer o' clock" and the stress ball fights, but it's all good.
